Lancer Wrestlers Making History

Posted February 18, 2025

The weekend of February 13-15, 2025, saw the Colorado High School State Wrestling Tournament unfold at Ball Arena in Denver. Among the talented competitors were five of Lincoln’s own: Jovanna Castro, Tori Bilbrey, Nevaeh Romero, Jordan Romero, and Sam Trujillo.

Jojo Castro, competing in the 100-pound class for Class 4A girls, contributed significantly to the excitement of the Colorado High School State Wrestling Tournament. She advanced to compete for the #3 spot in the Girls 100 lbs 4A Championship round but fell short placing fourth in her weight class. Castro became the first female wrestler in school history to finish top four in the state tournament.

Meanwhile, Jordan Romero, a junior from Abraham Lincoln High School, performed exceptionally well in the 126-pound weight class at the Colorado High School State Wrestling Tournament. He claimed his first State title with a 4-1 overtime victory. This impressive win showcases Romero’s skill and determination in a highly competitive weight class.

Coach Max Marquez & The Lancer Wrestling program had five state qualifiers in 2025.

  • Jovanna Castro 100lbs. Sophomore
  • Tori Bilbrey 105lbs. Junior
  • Nevaeh Romero 110lbs. Sophomore
