2nd 6-week Grades Close Friday, Nov 3rd

Hello Lincoln Parents,

This is a reminder that the second 6-week Grading period will close at the end of the Day Friday, November 3rd. Friday the 3rd is the last chance for students to submit course work for this 6 week grading period.

Parents and students will receive their students’ grades via email the week of November 6th. Please note, grades close November 3rd. Once grades close, students cannot make-up Classwork or Homework. It is important for students to complete all their work for this grading cycle.

Students can utilize:

Tuesday & Thursday Tutorial 10:07-10:36am
Tutorial is also available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after school in room 19.
“YESS Mentoring” meets after school Tuesday & Thursday in the cafeteria.
Connecting with their teachers to see what is needed to raise their grade.

Parents can access their Parent Portal to see their students’ current grades. https://myportal.dpsk12.org/

Important Dates:

Nov 1-3 – Dia De Los Muertos Celebration

Friday, Nov 3rd – 2nd 6-week Grades Close Friday.

Monday, Nov 6th – Half Day and Math & English Accuplacer Testing for students. Dismissal will be at 1pm.

Information will be sent to you and your student regarding what test will be taken (Math and/or English).

Nov 16th – Mandatory Winter Sports Parent Meeting

If your student is playing a Winter sports you will have to attend.

Nov 20th – Nov 24th – Thanksgiving Break (No School).

Mon, Nov 27th – Students Return to School 8:15am.

Thank you Cass Tafoya for all your efforts in making this event a reality! Congratulations to the Science team for winning best dept car and breakfast! Congrats to Mr. B for winning most creative car!

Showing Up Matters

Students who attend regularly are more likely to graduate on time and students who are chronically absent are more likely to drop out.

ALHS students who are absent 4-7 days in a grading period are put on a “white slip” attendance tracker by their attendance liaison where they must get teacher signatures in each period. Students who are absent 8-12 days in a grading period will meet with their attendance liaison and guardian to start a 6-week attendance contract. ALHS leadership will work with students who have 10 or more absences and do not show progress with attendance interventions to explore alternative educational settings.

El segundo período de calificaciones de 6 semanas cierra el viernes, 3 de noviembre

Hola padres de Lincoln,

Este es un recordatorio de que el segundo período de calificaciones de 6 semanas se cerrará al final del día viernes 3 de noviembre. El viernes 3 es la última oportunidad para que los estudiantes envíen trabajos de curso para este período de calificaciones de 6 semanas.

Los padres y estudiantes recibirán las calificaciones de sus alumnos por correo electrónico la semana del 6 de noviembre. Tenga en cuenta que las calificaciones cierran el 3 de noviembre. Una vez que se cierran las calificaciones, los estudiantes no pueden recuperar el trabajo en clase ni la tarea. Es importante que los estudiantes completen todo su trabajo para este ciclo de calificaciones.

Los estudiantes pueden utilizar:

Tutorial martes y jueves 10:07-10:36am.
La tutoría también está disponible los martes, miércoles y jueves después de clases en el salón 19.

Los estudiantes salen a la 1:00 p.m.
Se les enviará información a usted y a su estudiante sobre qué examen se tomará (Matemáticas y/o Inglés).

16 de noviembre – reunión obligatoria para padres sobre deportes de invierno.

Si su estudiante practica deportes de invierno, tendrá que asistir.

20 – 24 de noviembre – Vacaciones de Acción de Gracias (no hay clases).

Lunes, 27 de noviembre: Los estudiantes regresan a la escuela a las 8:15 am.

Estando Presente es la Meta

Los estudiantes que asisten regularmente tienen más probabilidades de graduarse a tiempo y los estudiantes que están crónicamente ausentes tienen más probabilidades de abandonar sus estudios.

Los estudiantes de ALHS que están ausentes de 4 a 7 días en un período de calificaciones son colocados en un rastreador de asistencia de “papel blanco” por su enlace de asistencia donde deben obtener las firmas de los maestros en cada período. Los estudiantes que estén ausentes de 8 a 12 días en un período de calificaciones se reunirán con su enlace de asistencia y tutor para iniciar un contrato de asistencia de 6 semanas. El liderazgo de ALHS trabajará con los estudiantes que tengan 10 o más ausencias y no muestren progreso con intervenciones de asistencia para explorar entornos educativos alternativos.

Every Year our Spanish AP and Path to a Spanish Minor classes fill up our main hall with ofrendas. At the end of the Dia De Los Muertos Celebration Lancers have a School-wide contest to vote for the top three Altars.

Cada año, nuestras clases de español AP y Path to a Spanish Minor llenan nuestro salón principal con ofrendas. Al final de la celebración del Día de los Muertos, los lanceros tienen un concurso en toda la escuela para votar por los tres mejores altares.
