Reminder: Daylight Saving Time Begins Tomorrow! Sunday, Mar 9, 2025
Don’t forget to set your clocks forward by one hour tonight! Tomorrow marks the start of Daylight Saving Time, bringing longer evenings and more daylight hours. This change helps make better use of natural daylight during the warmer months. So, get ready to spring forward and enjoy the extra evening light!
What is Daylight Saving Time?
Daylight Saving Time is a practice where clocks are set forward by one hour in the spring and backward by one hour in the fall. This allows for more daylight in the evening during the warmer months, typically from early March to early November in the U.S. Most smartphones will automatically update for Daylight Saving Time

OnTuesday, March 11th, 2025 we will have a “Know Your Rights” workshop with Uribe Reyes Law LLC. I encourage all of our families in the community to attend this workshop and learn what to do in an immigration situation. We will start at 5pm – 7pm here at Abraham Lincoln High School, We will have interpretation if needed, childcare and food will be provided. JROTC instructors from across the State of Colorado convened at Abraham Lincoln High School to undergo specialized training to become Basic Archery Instructors (BAI). This initiative marks a significant step in expanding archery training within JROTC programs, providing cadets with opportunities to develop discipline, focus, and marksmanship skills in a structured environment.
Among the Instructors providing the training were Lincoln High School’s own JROTC Instructor, First Sergeant Lewis, and First Sergeant Paul Mahoney, who serves as the Director of Military Science/JROTC for Denver Public Schools. This was the first class conducted to train JROTC instructors in Colorado. Their involvement highlights the Districts dedication to enhancing extracurricular opportunities for students through leadership and skill-building activities.

Recordatorio: ¡El horario de verano comienza mañana! Domingo, 9 de marzo de 2025
¡No olvides adelantar tu reloj una hora esta noche! Mañana comienza el horario de verano, lo que trae consigo noches más largas y más horas de luz. Este cambio ayuda a aprovechar mejor la luz natural durante los meses más cálidos. Así que, ¡prepárate para adelantar el horario y disfrutar de la luz adicional de la noche!
¿Qué es el horario de verano?
El horario de verano es una práctica que consiste en adelantar los relojes una hora en primavera y atrasarlos una hora en otoño. Esto permite que haya más luz natural por la noche durante los meses más cálidos, normalmente desde principios de marzo hasta principios de noviembre en los EE. UU. La mayoría de los teléfonos inteligentes se actualizarán automáticamente para el horario de verano.

Esta semana, celebramos a los increíbles trabajadores sociales escolares que hacen una diferencia en la vida de los estudiantes cada día. Desde brindar apoyo emocional hasta conectar a las familias con recursos, su dedicación ayuda a crear un futuro más brillante para nuestros jóvenes.

Los instructores de JROTC de todo el estado de Colorado se reunieron en la escuela secundaria Abraham Lincoln para recibir una capacitación especializada para convertirse en instructores básicos de tiro con arco (BAI). Esta iniciativa marca un paso significativo en la expansión de la capacitación en tiro con arco dentro de los programas JROTC, brindando a los cadetes oportunidades para desarrollar disciplina, concentración y habilidades de puntería en un entorno estructurado.
Entre los instructores que brindaron la capacitación se encontraban el instructor de JROTC de la escuela secundaria Lincoln, el sargento primero Lewis, y el sargento primero Paul Mahoney, quien se desempeña como director de Ciencias Militares/JROTC para las Escuelas Públicas de Denver. Esta fue la primera clase realizada para capacitar a los instructores de JROTC en Colorado. Su participación destaca la dedicación del Distrito a mejorar las oportunidades extracurriculares para los estudiantes a través de actividades de liderazgo y desarrollo de habilidades.
