The JROTC Program Accreditation (JPA) Inspection is a comprehensive assessment of high school JROTC programs, typically conducted every three years. This rigorous evaluation covers multiple aspects, including the Continuous Improvement Plan, Service Learning Project, unit reports, cadet and instructor portfolios, uniform and room inspections, and testing of cadets’ required knowledge. The inspection aims to maintain high standards and accountability within JROTC programs across the Country.
Cadets have the opportunity to earn the prestigious “Honor Unit with Distinction” (HUD) rating by scoring 95% or higher in the evaluation. Achieving this distinction allows cadets to wear a gold star, symbolizing their accomplishment. The JPA not only assesses program quality but also serves as a symbolic rite of passage for the entire corps, encouraging teamwork and pride among cadets.
