First day of school

9th Grade Connect Academy: Tuesday, August 5th – Friday, August 8th, 2025.

All 9th-grade students will begin school on Tuesday, August 5th at 8:30 am for Connect Academy and will need to report no later than 8:15 am. All 9th graders will have 4 days of school to have a strong start in their high school career. - All 9th graders will experience our year-long Connect Academy to ensure all students are provided with support, resources, and connections to be successful Students. Students will receive extra graduation credit for starting school early.

  • MI & MIA Students entering grade 9 will start Monday, Aug 18th.

All 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students will begin school on Monday, August 18th at 8:30 am and will need to report no later than 8:15 am.

Student Arrival

Students need to be at Lincoln each day by 8:15 am for a 8:30 am start time, and the school day ends at 3:50 pm. Students will enter through the main doors daily.

School Readiness

We expect all students to be ready to learn every day, which requires them to be highly organized. Each teacher will inform your child about the additional school supplies they will need to purchase to be successful. To support this, it is required that the following items be brought to school each day:

  • Students must be at school 100% of the time. This will provide the best opportunity for academic success

  • Chromebook- (Distribution will happen in the First two weeks of school)

  • Backpack

  • Pencils, pens

  • Water bottle

**Please bring your Chromebook laptop every day to school and make sure it is charged. If you do not have a Chromebook, we will assign one to you.

Bell Schedule

Lunch time

All grade levels will have lunch for 45 minutes. Students are encouraged to eat in our cafeteria, but they also have the option to eat off campus. However, students must return to the school by 12:59 pm. to start period 4/5 class on time

Late start day (Thursdays)

Every Thursday, students will have a late start, beginning with period 2 at 9:30 a.m. We will use this additional time in the morning for teacher professional learning and student data reviews.

Athletics & Activities

At Abraham Lincoln High School, student-athletes excel in both academics and athletics, preparing for college opportunities through their dedication to study, practice, and competition. ALHS offers 17 varsity sports programs, along with year-round programs for 8th graders. The Lancers are competitive, with recent league championships in baseball and soccer. Additionally, our distinguished girls’ and boys’ wrestling programs have produced a state champion and secured a top-four finish at the state tournament.
