The 2nd semester for all students begins on January 7th. All students must report to school at 7:30am to receive their schedule of classes. As I reflect on the 1st semester it is important that you as parent or guardian help us with the following to make sure our students are more successful.
must arrive at school everyday on time to their first class of the day
- All students
must attend school and each class every day: our attendance goal is 93%
- If your
child is late to class or is absent, then you must call the Welcome Center at
720-423-5000 to excuse your child.
- All students
must bring their school supplies, including their new Chromebook laptops every
- Students are
expected to do their classwork and homework when assigned
uniform must be worn daily
Please ask your child when they return from school each day, if they have homework and how their day went at school
As your principal, I will
continue to ensure:
- Safe school environment
- Academic excellence for all students
- Instructional excellence for all teachers
- Expectation that all students will earn college credit
while in high school and will become college and career successful
- Strong commitment to our parents and community
providing multiple opportunities for empowerment
- All students will be challenged academically and
provided supports to prepare them to pursue postsecondary options after high
- A targeted focus on 9th grade students to
ensure they have a tremendous high school experience
- Positive and proud Lincoln school culture
We expect all current and future Lancer students to continue to attend our school this semester and also for the next school year. You will be receiving information from School Choice and Enrollment within the next few weeks. Here is the timeline for our 9th through 11th grade students regarding school choice:
Round 1 of School Choice for the 2020-21 school year is open
8:30 a.m. Jan. 15 to 4 p.m. Feb. 18, 2020
*We are excited to announce that our new College and Career Academy plan will begin during the 2020-21 school year. All Abraham Lincoln students will have the opportunity to earn for free:
Certificate- Allows students to demonstrate mastery of
knowledge and/or skills. They can increase job prospects, marketability to
employers and employability, as well as options for postsecondary education.
college credits- Transferrable to any four-year or two-year public Colorado
Degree or up to 60 college credits: Partnership with the Community College of
Denver to provide students up to two years of college to reduce the cost of a
four-year college degree.
Our college partners are: Community College of Denver, Metro State University, University of Colorado at Denver and Emily Griffith Technical College. We are the only Denver traditional high school to offer this new and innovative programming for our students!
